The sun set casting a warm glow over the pavilion, the Goo Goo Dolls took the stage to thunderous applause. The band, known for their heartfelt lyrics and timeless hits, started the night with classics like "Broadway" and "Slide." Lead singer, John Rzeznik perched on an equipment case with his foot in a medical boot. That didn’t seem to slow him down at all as the crowd swayed in unison, their voices blending with the music as the evening unfolded.

Later in the evening, City On Down blasted across the pavilion as O.A.R. stormed the stage. O.A.R.’s hometown shows at Merriweather are unlike any other. They always generate an electricity that is only possible in Maryland. The energy reached its peak during a special rendition of I Won’t Back Down, by Tom Petty.
