Earlier this week, Margo Price brought her Wild at Heart Tour to Washington, DC, transforming the legendary 9:30 Club into a honky-tonk complete with sunset stage lighting. The stage glowed in washes of orange and purple light, casting long, cinematic shadows that felt like dusk settling over an open highway.

Price emerged in a stylish western dress, her band clad in classic western wear that nodded to tradition. From the opening notes of “About to Find Out,” it was clear the setlist would be the architecture of the night. “Wild at Heart” and “Red Eye Flight” followed with restless energy, grounding the show with Margo’s signature defiant independence that has long defined her epic catalog.

The emotional center of the show arrived with “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” Price’s voice steady and resolute as she channeled Bob Dylan. The song’s timeless urgency blended seamlessly with her own “Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down,” blurring the lines between past protest and present resolve. By the time she closed the night with Dylan’s “Maggie’s Farm,” the through-line was unmistakable.

The setlist shaped the arc of the evening from personal reflection to collective defiance, stitching together her originals with songs by Logan Ledger, Jeremy Ivey, and Blaze Foley. As the final chords rang out beneath the stage’s sunset glow, Price had successfully honored her influences while carving her own place in the canon.
